Poças launches the first top red with Hubert de Boüard consultancy

Working together since 2014, Poças Reserva red 2014, now launched, is the first wine with Hubert de Boüard consultancy along with Coroa d’Ouro and Vale de Cavalos, both reds from 2014.

This top red wine presents the characteristically Douro concentration and structure combined with French subtlety, showing an elegant profile, with ageing capacity and good expression.

Although there’s no revolution in the new edition that now comes to the market the ambition is to present a wider view of making wine and finding the details that make the difference.

"Colheita" of generations

The February issue of Wine magazine published a story about Poças tradition in the production of Colheita Port Wine. All started with a vertical tasting with the wine journalist, Rui Falcão, at Poças facilities in Vila Nova de Gaia. Eight wines, from 1964 to 2000, with scores between 18.5 and 17 points, proving the existence of "Wonders" under the roof of Poças warehouse.

The article mentions the practices, trends and struggles in the Port business, specially in the winemaking style, which deserves full dedication to, which Poças is strong in - the Tawny Colheita Port. The journalist writes "Colheita Port is made thinking about children and grandchildren, enjoying the wines that parents and grandparents have left". Inheritors of a legacy, POças Júnior is committed. Only this way can the "excellence" be kept, and continue making "wines that make us dream" as the wine specialist refers. The whole story here.
