WHITE & ROSE
Whites and rosés picked early to hold on to the acidity a Douro summer works against. Citric and taut, made for the table and the aperitif hour rather than for the cellar. Altitude helps: Vale de Cavalos sits at 520 metres, between schist and granite.
This is also where the Fora da Série wines live: an orange wine, a sparkling Élevé, a cold-smoked rosé. And the Trava-Línguas, including a Vinho Verde, with labels drawn by invited illustrators.
